PRIMARY PURPOSE: Development of new and existing twinax products that meets or exceed customer expectations. Program manage twinax program, coordinating efforts between South Grafton, Molex High Performance Cable in Little Rock, Arkansas, and Molex Philippines. Support all projects in development, product testing, generates models, 2-D, Engineering changes, technical documents etc. DUTIES &
Responsibilities: 1.With some guidance from Engineering Manager, develops new twinax product designs and manage product extension. 2.Ownership of critical path technology items- Plans, budgets, and oversees progress of projects against schedules. technical support to customers, suppliers and inside personnel. product activities with engineering, manufacturing, costing, purchasing and quality. 5.Support product test by coordinating with reliability lab (write test request, gather test sample, board etc.) 6.Performs twinax design verification activities to ensure that design meets the specifications of the customer and UL requirements. To include coordination of customer qualification requirements. 7.Checks manufacturing and sales drawings for completeness and accuracy. Work closely with the Process Engineering team to establish PFMEAs. Work with Process Engineering team to define and execute verficiation plans for new twinax processes in development. 8.Responsible for loading all twinax products into released BOM's (Bill of Material) and Material Master data sheets through SAP/software. 9.Understand, support and contribute to current Molex Total Quality Management (TQM), Six Sigma, International Standards Organization (ISO) and Environmental, and/or Health and Safety (EH&S;) Management Systems by following stated policies and procedures. 10.Perform other related duties as assigned by management. SCOPE: Position to develop / support new and existing twinax products that meet or exceed customer expectations. Coordinate and support all twinax projects in development to generate revenue and growth for Business Unit. Engineering Manager to review designs and provide assistance as needed. EDUCATION: REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering WORK
Experience: REQUIRED:8
years cable design experience. PREFERRED:Twinax design experience. SKILLS & ABILITIES: REQUIRED:
Proficient in solid modeling, experience to generate 3D models & 2-D drawings.
Demonstrated ability to analyze information and solve problems with sound solutions
Good verbal and written skills for exchange of information in a clear and concise manner.
15% travel required to include Little Rock Arkansas, Philippines, and customer visits.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively both within a team environment and independently. PREFERRED:
Knowledge of MM / BOM loading software
Familiarity with manufacturing processes
Good knowledge of material properties
Experience in designing twinax cables
